2018 Preorders – April / May / June

I haven’t done a preorder post in a while so thought I’d list what preorders I’ve placed for April, May and June. I’ve tried to be more sensible about how many books I preorder except I realise I’ve gone a little overboard in May!

April

The Hunger – Alma Katsu

The Hunger

As soon as I saw Stephen King describe this book as “deeply, deeply disturbing, hard to put down, not recommended reading after dark”, I knew I had to preorder it. It’s based on the true story of the Donner Party and sounds so creepy. I’ve preordered an exclusive signed edition from Goldsboro Books.

Circe – Madeline Miller

Circe by Madeline Miller

Another book I’ve preordered from Goldsboro Books is Circe. I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this and adored it so I had to preorder this signed and numbered edition for my collection.

May

Only Human – Sylvain Neuvel

Only Human

I loved the first two books in this series so I had to preorder the matching limited edition from Goldsboro Books. I’ve never read many sci-fi books so these were a great introduction to the genre.

The Testament of Loki – Joanne M. Harris

The Testament of Loki

I love Norse mythology and really enjoyed The Gospel of Loki so I’m looking forward to reading the sequel. Waterstones are selling signed editions which I obviously couldn’t resist.

Legendary – Stephanie Garber

Legendary by Stephanie Garber

After loving Caraval, I had to preorder a matching limited edition from Goldsboro Books. I can’t wait to see the finished copy as the gold edges on the first book were stunning.

A Court Of Frost and Starlight – Sarah J. Maas

ACOFAS

I obviously had to preorder one of the special editions of ACOFAS because I love this series so much. I chose the Indigo exclusive edition because it has fan-art endpapers. I’ve also got a paperback preordered as I’m not sure how long the exclusive edition will take to arrive from Canada.

The Map of Salt & Stars – Jennifer Zeynab Joukhadar

The Map of Salt & Stars

This beautiful book is the Goldsboro BOTM for May. It’s a signed and numbered limited edition with sprayed edges so I can’t wait to see the finished copy. It sounds like the type of book I’ll love too.

The Surface Breaks – Louise O’Neill

The Surface Breaks

A feminist retelling of The Little Mermaid by one of my favourite authors was always going to be an auto-buy for me! Plus, look at that gorgeous cover. I’ve preordered a signed edition from Waterstones.

From Twinkle, with Love – Sandhya Menon

From Twinkle With Love by Sandhya Menon

I adored When Dimple Met Rishi and I was lucky enough to get an ARC of From Twinkle. It was just as brilliant and my dog Roux was even featured due to a preorder competition I won. If you like YA contemporaries, then you need to order this book.

June

A Reaper at the Gates – Sabaa Tahir

A Reaper at the Gates

Despite not having read the first two books yet, I’ve preordered the Goldsboro limited edition which is signed and numbered, plus has sprayed edges. I’m definitely reading the other books before this is released though!

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets – J.K. Rowling

Ravenclaw Chamber of Secrets

I’ve preordered the Ravenclaw edition from Bloomsbury so I get the gorgeous free leather bookmark. I can’t buy every house edition as I just don’t have enough room for them.

How Do You Like Me Now? – Holly Bourne

How Do You Like Me Now?

This will be my first Holly Bourne book but when I saw a signed edition on Waterstones I had to order it. I’m turning thirty next year so it seemed particularly apt!

Any other books I need to preorder? I’ve got Owlcrate coming and I think I’ve guessed both the April and May books otherwise I would have preordered them as well.
