A-Z Book Tag
I saw this tag over at A Little But A Lot and really enjoyed it so had to take part myself. It was originally created by the Perpetual Page Turner.
A | author you’ve read the most books from:
According to my Goodreads stats, my most-read author is Charlaine Harris with 36 books, followed by Agatha Christie with 35 books.
B | best sequel ever:

I’m going with Muse of Nightmares for this one as it somehow exceeded my very high expectations.
C | currently reading:
I’m almost finished Unravel the Dusk by Elizabeth Lim. I’m also rereading Strange the Dreamer and slowly reading The Silk Roads.
D | drink of choice while reading:
I mainly drink water but, if not, I like hot chocolate or green tea.
E | e-reader or physical book:
Definitely physical books just because I’m more likely to buy them for my collection. However, I do use a kindle for Netgalley and for very large books that might exacerbate my joint pain.
F | fiction character you would’ve dated in high school:
It would have to be someone sweet and nerdy like Rishi from When Dimple Met Rishi.
G | glad you gave this book a chance:

I don’t read a lot of romance but I’m really glad I gave The Flatshare a chance as it was super sweet and just what I needed.
H | hidden gem book:
If you want a fast-paced pirate adventure then you can’t go wrong with Viper by Bex Hogan.
I | important moment in your reading life:
Definitely joining Litsy and meeting my bestie. We now enable each other’s reading addictions.
J | just finished:
I just read Red Hood by Elana K. Arnold. It was a visceral and gory exploration of toxic masculinity and feminine power.
K | kind of books you won’t read:
I try not to shut myself off to any genres in particular but I suppose I don’t read Christian fiction, self-help books, or poetry very often.
L | longest book you’ve read:
According to Goodreads, Les Misérables is the longest book I’ve read at 1,480 pages.
M | major book hangover because of:

Kingdom of Ash was probably the last book to give me a major book hangover. I think finishing a series of this length is always going to have a big impact on you.
N | number of bookcases you own:
In my bedroom I have one large bookcase, a ladder bookshelf full of Folio Society editions, a small bookcase dedicated to Harry Potter, another small bookcase full of paperbacks, and a desk bookshelf with ARCs on. I also have a large bookcase in the office as well as shelves and boxes in there. Plus a small bookcase in the spare room.
O | one book you’ve read multiple times:
I reread The Scorpio Races and The Shining every year.
P | preferred place to read:
At the moment, bed is my preferred place to read. But I’ve ordered a big armchair that I’m hoping will become part of my reading nook.
Q | quote that inspires you/gave you all the feels from a book:
I have so many quotes I love but one that’s stuck with me is this:
“If you’re going to live, you might as well do painful, brave, and beautiful things.”
The Serpent King – Jeff Zentner
R | reading regret:
Reading American Psycho. I really hated that book.
S | series you’ve started and need to finish (all books are out):

I’ve read This Mortal Coil and This Cruel Design but need to read This Vicious Cure soon. I know I need to reread the first two books though which is putting me off.
T | three of your all time favourite books:
- The Bear and the Nightingale – Katherine Arden
- The Scorpio Races – Maggie Stiefvater
- The Song of Achilles – Madeline Miller
U | unapologetic fangirl for:
I love Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston so would definitely count myself a fangirl.
V | very excited for this release:
Probably my most-anticipated read of the year is either The Faithless Hawk by Margaret Owen or The Empire of Gold by S.A. Chakraborty.
W | worst bookish habits:
Either leaving reviews for ages so I’ve basically forgotten everything by the time it comes to write one or buying books and not reading them straight away. Both are habits I need to change.
X | x marks the spot! start at the top of your bookshelf and pick the 27th book:
Sweet Black Waves by Kristina Pérez (no, I haven’t read it yet…).
Y | your latest book purchase:

My last purchase was Of Curses and Kisses by Sandhya Menon. I’ve been a lot better this month and definitely bought fewer books.
Z | zzz-snatcher book – last book that kept you up way too late:
Definitely The Flower Girls by Alice Clark-Platts.
Feel free to consider yourself tagged if you’d like to take part!
