April Owlcrate Unboxing – Shadows & Secrets
After loving my first Owlcrate last month, I kept my subscription active as April’s box sounded like it was going to be brilliant.
THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS SO PLEASE STOP READING IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW WHAT WAS IN THE APRIL OWLCRATE BOX!!!
THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE TO AVOID SPOILERS!
First up were these exclusive Harry Potter inspired pencils created in collaboration with Jubilee Designs. I love pencils so these are a great addition to my collection.
Next up was a gorgeous exclusive Shadowhunter soap from Three Sisters Apothecary by Soap Cauldron. I still haven’t read The Mortal Instruments series or seen the TV show but intend to finally read the first book this year.
This box also included an exclusive blend of delicious Dark Chocolate & Sea Salt coffee from Bones Coffee Company. I love the package design so much but unfortunately I don’t drink coffee due to migraines.
I love this stunning vinyl sticker inspired by The Young Elites and designed by artist Jamila Mehio, and there was also an exclusive three-chapter Legendary sampler in the box which was such a great bonus.
The big item in this box was an exclusive pillowcase inspired by Crooked Kingdom and designed by Stella Bookish Art. This is an absolutely beautiful design but not sure how it will look without matching bedding as I’m quite obsessive about things like that!
This month’s book was Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody and was another signed edition with an exclusive cover. It also came with an author letter and an exclusive postcard set. The only problem I had was that the stickers on the postcards tore as you opened them which was incredibly disappointing. I’ve already read and enjoyed this book so can’t wait to add this edition to my shelf.
If I’m honest, I don’t think this box was as incredible as the March one which I adored so much. I’ll definitely use fewer of the April items and there was nothing that was unmissable for me. However, I love the exclusive book and wouldn’t have been able to get a signed edition in the UK otherwise.
I’ve kept my subscription going as I’m eager for May’s theme ‘Fight Like A Girl’. I think I’ve guessed the Viking-inspired book and it’s one I’ve put off preordering until I’m sure. I’m desperate to read it though and this one will be another signed, exclusive edition. As for the fandoms featuring in this box, Owlcrate is including Children of Blood and Bone, A Court of Wings and Ruin, Harry Potter and Six of Crows. I love every one of these so this box sounds perfect.
