ARC August 2018

This is my first time taking part in ARC August and I’m really looking forward to tackling my pile of unread ARCs. In case you didn’t know, the challenge was created by Read.Sleep.Repeat and lasts all of August. This year there’s also going to be two readathons and a bookish bingo with prizes to be won for participating (open international).

I try not to let my physical ARC pile get too out of control but it’s been creeping up recently so I’ve decided to focus on these books first:

  • The Mermaid by Christina Henry
  • Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik
  • Mirage by Somaiya Daud
  • That’s Not What Happened by Kody Keplinger
  • The Clockmaker’s Daughter by Kate Morton
  • The Boneless Mercies by April Genevieve Tucholke

Next up, if I have time, will be older ARCs and finished review copies that have somehow slipped the net:

  • The Waking Land by Callie Bates
  • The Memory of Fire by Callie Bates
  • Aru Shah and the End of Time by Roshani Chokshi
  • The Queens of Innis Lear by Tessa Gratton
  • The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang
  • The Language of Secrets by Ausma Zehanat Khan
  • An Ocean of Minutes by Thea Lim
  • Retribution Road by Antonin Varenne

It’s unlikely I’ll get all of these read but I’m hoping to make a significant dent in the pile, which would be a big relief. Anyone else taking part in ARC August? Link to your sign-up posts below and I’ll make sure I’m following.

I’m not taking part of ARC August, but just because I’ve been sparse on requesting books lately. I tend to get overwhelmed pretty easily when reading ARCs, so I usually just have one at a time. I also have an ARC of Mirage! I’m halfway through the book, but I just stopped reading it a couple days ago. Not because it’s bad, but because I was really in the mood for a romance novel and not a sci-fi, haha! Good luck with ARC August Rachael!

Thank you so much! I’ve been requesting fewer books too so hopefully this will help me catch up with my backlog.

I’m taking part in my first ARC August 🙂
Your TBR looks amazing. I would say that The Poppy War is hard, it is the darkest of GrimDark Fantasy, so take care of yourself while you read it!

It’s my first one too but such a good idea and really needed right now! Thank you so much for the warning about The Poppy War. I’ve seen a few trigger warnings for it so I’m prepared for how difficult it might be.
