{AD|gifted} What was your most recent bookish mail? πŸ’œβ  I am so excited to have received a manuscript copy of THE INFINITY COURTS by @akemidawnbowman. It's released April 6th, 2021 and you can find the synopsis below: πŸ’œβ  Eighteen-year-old Nami Miyamoto is certain her life is just beginning. She has a great family, just graduated high school, and is on her way to a party where her entire class is waiting for herβ€”including, most importantly, the boy she’s been in love with for years. . The only problem? She’s murdered before she gets there. . When Nami wakes up, she learns she’s in a place called Infinity, where human consciousness goes when physical bodies die. She quickly discovers that Ophelia, a virtual assistant widely used by humans on Earth, has taken over the afterlife and is now posing as a queen, forcing humans into servitude the way she’d been forced to serve in the real world. Even worse, Ophelia is inching closer and closer to accomplishing her grand plans of eradicating human existence once and for all. . As Nami works with a team of rebels to bring down Ophelia and save the humans under her imprisonment, she is forced to reckon with her past, her future, and what it is that truly makes us human. πŸ’œβ  #bookstagram #books #booklover #bookworm #bookaddict #igreads #bibliophile #bookstagramfeature #bookishfeatures #theinfinitycourts #akemidawnbowman

Do you have any summer traditions? ⠀ πŸ’•β β € Today's prompt for the #10thingsihateaboutpinky bookstagram challenge asks this very question so I thought I'd ask you as well. I have certain books I like to reread in the summer (Anne of Green Gables, RWRB etc) and probably going to the beach as often as possible is the only other thing I do every summer. ⠀ πŸ’•β β € I recently received my gorgeous custom RWRB candle from @bookwormcandles and absolutely love it. The scent is beautiful – earl grey and expensive cologne – and evokes Henry and Alex perfectly. ⠀ πŸ’•β β € 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT PINKY by Sandhya Menon is released one week today. This YA contemporary is the perfect book for the summer and features both enemies-to-lovers and fake dating!⠀ πŸ’•β β € #bookstagram #books #booklover #bookworm #bookaddict #igreads #bibliophile #bookstagramfeature #bookishfeatures #rwrb #redwhiteandroyalblue #caseymcquiston #bookishcandles #summertraditions

{AD|gifted} Have you read YOU SHOULD SEE ME IN A CROWN yet? πŸ‘‘β  I loved this story of seventeen-year-old Liz Lighty as she campaigns for Prom Court in the hope of winning a $10,000 scholarship. Liz was such an engaging and likeable character and I quickly became invested in her journey. πŸ‘‘β  The warm and witty writing style is assured and engaging, inviting the reader to fall in love with the incredible Liz and to find the courage to be their true self. If you haven’t read this book yet then do yourself a favour and beg, borrow, or buy a copy. πŸ‘‘β  Thank you to @scholastic_uk / @harrietdunlea for my complimentary finished copy. πŸ‘‘β  #bookstagram #books #booklover #bookworm #bookaddict #igreads #bibliophile #bookstagramfeature #bookishfeatures #youshouldseemeinacrown #leahjohnson #supportblackauthors

{AD|gifted} Do you have any books you're wanting to read this summer? β˜€οΈβ  On my TBR pile is HEARTBREAK BOYS by @simonjamesgreen, due to be released 6th August. I'm part of the blog tour next month and can't wait to read this beautiful book. You can read the synopsis below: β˜€οΈβ  Faking the best summer ever is a lot harder than it looks… At the start of summer, Jack and Nate find themselves dumped as their respective exes, Dylan and Tariq, start up a new relationship together. Not only that, their exes start posting pics on social media, showing the whole world how fabulous their new life together is! . . Jack and Nate are reeling. Not to be outdone, they decide to create their own 'highlights reel' and show their exes that they're having an even better time. . . But between the depressing motorway service station motels, damp campsites, and an ultimate showdown with the exes, something epic really is happening: Jack and Nate are learning to get over their heartache and open themselves up to new possibilities for love. β˜€οΈβ  Thank you to @scholastic_uk for my complimentary finished copy. β˜€οΈβ  #bookstagram #books #booklover #bookworm #bookaddict #igreads #bibliophile #bookstagramfeature #bookishfeatures #pridebooktours #heartbreakboys #simonjamesgreen

{AD|gifted} Do you like superhero comics and/or films? If so, THE EXTRAORDINARIES is the super-soft, super queer, superhero tale you’ve never known you needed. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆβ  Today is my turn on the bookstagram tour for THE EXTRAORDINARIES. I absolutely loved this book and have been trying to get my hands on a copy of THE HOUSE IN THE CERULEAN SEA to read more by this author. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆβ  The main character Nick is so endearing despite being completely oblivious and reckless. The book basically revolves around everyone saying β€œNicky, no” and Nicky deciding β€œNicky, yes”. He’s also neurodivergent with ADHD and it was amazing how this was present on every page. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆβ  The foundation of this book was the friendship group of Nick, Seth, Gibby and Jazz. This queer squad (Nick is gay, Seth is bi, and Gibby and Jazz are lesbians) is absolutely perfect and I loved the stories describing how they each met. Additionally, the humour is some of the best I’ve ever read and had me laughing out loud so many times. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆβ  I did take off half a star because of the glorification of police officers which you can read more about over on my blog. However, I'd definitely recommend buying, borrowing or begging a copy of this book. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆβ  Thank you to the publisher for my complimentary eARC. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆβ  #bookstagram #books #booklover #bookworm #bookaddict #igreads #bibliophile #bookstagramfeature #bookishfeatures #theextraordinaries #tjklune #pridebooktours
