End of Summer Recap Tag
With summer ending in a few days, I thought I’d take part in the End of Summer Recap tag which was created by Faith at BookSelf. I first saw it over at Kristin Kraves Books. My answers will only include books I read between 21st June and 23rd September.
Which book can you not stop thinking about?
With so much of the news being awful, Red, White & Royal Blue provided a much-needed escape into an alternate timeline I wish we were living, Plus it’s just the cutest.
Which book would you rather not have read?
Imaginary Friend was 720 pages that I really would rather not have read. I didn’t connect with the story and felt it needed serious editing. As an atheist, I also felt a lot of the intended power behind the story was lost for me.
What genre did you read the most?
Fantasy was definitely my most-read genre. Out of the 53 books I read, 13 were YA fantasy, 12 were adult fantasy, and 2 were children’s fantasy.
What book surprised you the most?
For some reason, I wasn’t that bothered about reading Sanctuary. However, the publisher sent me a finished copy and I started reading it. After about 50 pages I was hooked and couldn’t put it down. It ended up being a 5-star read for me.
Which book disappointed you the most?
The hype around Carry On is still huge so I think I went into this with too high expectations. It was just okay and nothing original but I did love SnowBaz.
What was your favourite cover?
It has to be Gods of Jade and Shadow, which was designed by Daniel Pelavin. I love the colours, style and design. Plus it was a 5-star read.
What was your favourite summer release?
What book did you plan on reading but never got around to?
I always seem to have a Cassandra Clare book lying on my TBR pile and this time it’s Lady Midnight. Fingers crossed I can finish this series before the end of the year.
What’s on your Autumn TBR?
Please feel free to consider yourself tagged if you’d like to take part in the end of summer recap book tag!
