February Illumicrate Unboxing
This month I finally received my February ‘Rise Up’ Illumicrate and Howler one-off box. Both had been held back at my local delivery depot due to the horrendous snow and unfortunately, the Howler box was damaged as they must have left it in the wet. Anyway, thankfully the February box was in pristine condition and full of amazing goodies.
THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS SO PLEASE STOP READING IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW WHAT WAS IN THE FEBRUARY ILLUMICRATE!!!
First up was this gorgeous Fight the Darkness cushion cover inspired by A Torch Against the Night and designed by Stella Bookish Art. There was also a beautiful Hamilton mug designed by Abbie Imagine. I haven’t actually read An Ember in the Ashes or been lucky enough to see Hamilton yet but I love the chosen quotes on both items.
One of my favourite items in the box was the amazing laser cut, engraved dagger bookmark inspired by The Winner’s Curse and designed by R Jack. Also included was a Rebel’s Command list notepad by House of Wonderland, an Order of the Phoenix magnet designed by Hannah Hitchman, a Lunar lip balm inspired by Scarlet from the Lunar Chronicles and made by Lovely Lip Balm, and a little notebook and pen created for The Hazel Wood.
The box also included publisher swag, my favourite of which was the Strange the Dreamer postcard.
There was also an ARC of The Smoke Thieves by Sally Green that had sprayed purple edges! I’ve been wanting to read this since seeing it on Twitter so I’m really looking forward to it. Including an ARC in the box makes it feel really special too.
Finally, the book choice for this month was Blood and Sand by C.V. Wyk. I hadn’t heard of this until someone suggested it as a possible choice but it sounds perfect. A Spartacus retelling from a female perspective – count me in! There was also a signed bookplate and matching bookmark, badge and temporary tattoo.
There was so much in the box that I had a hard time fitting it all into one photo! Daphne curated an absolutely amazing box packed to the brim with goodies.
The February Fairyloot and Illumicrate boxes were my first time receiving either and both were definitely worth the money.
