Halloween Creatures 2.0 Book Tag
Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and you can find all the information and upcoming prompts over on her blog. It’s such a fun idea and I love reading everyone’s posts and adding to my book wishlist.
This weeks prompt is a Halloween freebie so I’ve decided to do a book tag instead of the usual list. I found this super fun Halloween Creatures tag created by Anthony from Keep Reading Forward and had to take part.
๐WITCH – a magical character or book๐
Harry Potter – J.K. Rowling
I’m using my one Harry Potter quota on this prompt as it’s too perfect to pass up. It’s still one of the most magical series I’ve read.
๐WEREWOLF – the perfect book to read at night๐
Dracula – Bram Stoker
Gothic books are perfect to read at night for the added atmosphere.
๐FRANKENSTEIN – a book that truly shocked you๐
The Dragon Republic – R.F. Kuang
I didn’t see *that* coming.
๐THE DEVIL – a dark, evil character๐
Mrs Coulter
Northern Lights– Philip Pullman
Mrs Coulter is manipulative, cruel, and ruthlessly ambitious when we first meet her.
๐GRIM REAPER – a character that should never have died๐
Matthew Cuthbert
Anne of Green Gables – L.M. Montgomery
I’ll never get over Matthew’s death. He was the absolute sweetest and deserved more time with Anne.
๐ZOMBIE – a book that made you hungry for more๐
Ninth House – Leigh Bardugo
Recently I read Ninth House and it left me desperate for more dark academia, the occult, and Alex Stern.
๐GARGOYLE – a character you would protect at all costs๐
Cassian
A Court of Thorns and Rosesย – Sarah J Maas
I think we all wanted to hug Cassian after the crushing Solstice present scene.ย
๐VAMPIRE – a book that sucked the life out of you๐
A Little Life – Hanya Yanagihara
I’ve read this heartbreaking book twice and still find myself emotionally drained by the end.
๐GHOST – a book that still haunts you๐
Muse of Nightmares – Laini Taylor
I often find myself thinking about my all-time favourite duology. I loved every word.
๐DEMON – a book that really scared you๐
The Shining – Stephen King
This book still terrifies me every time I read it. I end up so jumpy and one eye remains on the door at all times.
๐SKELETON – a character you have a bone to pick with๐
Simon
Kingsbane – Claire Legrand
All I’m saying is, Simon better have an excellent explanation prepared when we meet him again.
๐MUMMY – a book you would preserve throughout time๐
Pride and Prejudice – Jane Austen
I’d have to preserve at least one Jane Austen book if I thought they would disappear in the near future.
๐CREEPY DOLL – a cover too scary to look at๐
Campfire – Shawn Sarles
This cover doesn’t seem too bad until you have it sitting on your bedside table and you end up jumping every time you glimpse it.
This was such a fun tag to take part in. Please feel free to consider yourself tagged if you’d like to answer the prompts.
