May Owlcrate Unboxing – Fight Like A Girl
As soon as the theme was revealed for the May Owlcrate, I knew I needed to have it. I guessed the book beforehand and was so excited as I’ve been wanting to read it for months. The fandoms mentioned were all ones I love so it was an easy decision to continue my subscription.
THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS SO PLEASE STOP READING IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW WHAT WAS IN THE MAY OWLCRATE BOX!!!
THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE TO AVOID SPOILERS!
First up was this exclusive enamel pin from Out of Print inspired by Hermione Granger. I love enamel pins and Hermione is my hero so I adore this.
Next up was this exclusive double-sided tassel bookmark designed by Indigo Eleven and inspired by both The Wrath and the Dawn and Flame in the Mist.
Evie Bookish designed an exclusive gorgeous wall hanging inspired by Feyre in ACOTAR for this box. I’m not sure if Owlcrate has done an item like this before but it was a really great idea.
I was looking forward to seeing what the item inspired by Children of Blood and Bone would be and it turned out to be a bath bomb created by Whipped Up Wonderful. I don’t actually use bath bombs but I know my sister will love it.
The next item was this stunning art print of Inej from Six of Crows by Melanie Bourgeois. I’m already a fan of Melanie’s work so I’m really pleased with this artwork.
This month’s box included two books, one of which was Catching Stars by Cayla Keenan. This is an Owlcrate exclusive and sounds like something I’ll enjoy.
Lastly, the book this month was Adrienne Young’s Sky in the Deep. As usual, it’s an exclusive signed edition with silver instead of gold on the dust jacket. Alongside the book was an exclusive pin (which I love!), and a letter from the author. I actually had this book preordered before realising it was going to be in this month’s box so I can’t wait to finally read it.
I definitely loved this month’s box and thought they packed an incredible selection of goodies into it. I like how Owlcrate is still trying to find new items like the wall hanging to include and hope they continue to do this in future boxes. Including two books was great but I would have loved the second book to have been a different genre. Overall though, I’m really pleased with this box.
I’ve already guessed the book for June’s Owlcrate and I’m so excited. I don’t want to say why in case I spoil it for anyone though. I had my subscription set to renew but then I was incredibly lucky to win a free box thanks to the April photo challenge on Instagram. The theme is Summer Lovin’ and will feature fandoms such as Since You’ve Been Gone and Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe. I haven’t read either book but it sounds like a brilliant box.
