Musical Theatre Book Tag
I’m spending the weekend in London seeing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, plus revisiting the Harry Potter Studio Tour. Today I’m finally seeing Les Miserables, after obsessing over the film and DVDs of the anniversary shows. So it seemed the perfect time to do the musicals book tag, created by Something Like Lydia.
[There are spoilers for A Little Life in this post.]
Wicked – Favourite Fictional Friendship
It has to be the golden trio of Harry, Ron and Hermione. They supported each other through the worst of times and became even better friends.
Sweeney Todd – Favourite Villain
One of my favourite villains from childhood was Long John Silver. He was so charismatic that I was as shocked as Jim to realise he was the villain.
Phantom of the Opera – Favourite Love Triangle
There are so many choices for this and I was tempted to go with Alina, Mal and the Darkling from the Grisha trilogy but decided to choose Katniss, Peeta, and Gale from The Hunger Games instead as both were good men and would have tried to make Katniss happy.
The Lion King – Favourite Sidekick
Abraxos from the Throne of Glass series is adorable as Manon’s sidekick so I have to choose him.
Grease – Least Favourite Ending
I will always ship Jo and Laurie in Little Women. It felt like the author just didn’t want to please the reader out of spite.
Matilda: The Musical – Favourite Adaptation of a Book
I’ve got to say Game of Thrones as it’s been pretty true to the books and is beautifully produced with a great cast.
Les Miserables – Favourite Death in a Book
One of the most powerful deaths in a book was Willem’s in A Little Life. It was so unexpected and set the rest of events into motion.
And that’s it! Feel free to consider yourself tagged if you’d like to participate.
