The Brooklyn 99 Book Tag
With the world being a bit of a mess, comedy is my fall-back TV genre of choice at the moment (Parks & Rec, B99, The Good Place) so I loved this tag I saw over at Pretty Purple Polka Dots. It was originally created by Meggan from Between the Pages. I’m going to try to answer this using only books I’ve read so far this year.
A protagonist that you can’t help but love
Spensa from Starsight is cocky and ridiculous at times but you can’t help loving her.
A strong female character
Renata from Incendiary was a fantastically complex main character and shows how perceived weaknesses can be strengths.
Favourite book containing royalty
A Throne of Swans was a wonderful story of courtly intrigue, romance, and shapeshifting.
A book that has the best character development
Destination Anywhere is Peyton’s coming-of-age story and explores her profound character development.
A book you thought would be boring but turned out to be amazing
For some reason I didn’t think I’d enjoy Queen of Coin and Whispers but I ended up loving it so much.
Character that provides the best comic relief in tense moments
Al in Dangerous Remedy provides some much-needed moments of comic relief in a fast-paced story.
A character you love but who could kill you in a second
I have to go with Csorwe from The Unspoken Name for this prompt. I love her but she could easily kill me.
HITCHCOCK & SCULLY
