The Greatest Showman Book Tag

My current obsession is The Greatest Showman so I did a quick google search to find a book tag inspired by the film. I found two that I liked so I’m going to use prompts from both. The first was created by Irish Reader on booktube and the other was created by RachaelRexds.

The Greatest Show – A book that gave you all the feels.

🎩 We light it up, we won’t come down
And the sun can’t stop us now
Watching it come true, it’s taking over you
Oh, this is the greatest show πŸŽ©

A Little Life

I have to choose A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara for this prompt as it completely shattered me. I honestly couldn’t stop thinking about it for months after finishing. I’m tempted to reread this year despite knowing I’ll be broken all over again.

A Million Dreams – A book that left you dreaming about it after you finished.

πŸ’« Every night I lie in bed
The brightest colors fill my head
A million dreams are keeping me awake
A million dreams, a million dreams πŸ’«

ACOMAF - A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas

I think the worldbuilding in the ACOTAR series is one of those that leaves the reader wanting to actually visit all the places mentioned. I imagine it would be incredible to see Velaris and the Summer Court from ACOMAF. I also had a huge book hangover after finishing this one.

Come Alive – A character who bravely overcomes their fears.

❀ And you’re more than you could ever be
‘Cause you’re dreaming with your eyes wide open
And you know you can’t go back again
To the world that you were living in ❀

Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli Book Review

I’m trying not to use Harry Potter for every prompt (otherwise I would have chosen Neville Longbottom for this one) so I’m going with Blue from Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda as he has to overcome his fears of coming out as gay to his parents.

The Other Side – Your favourite bromance.

πŸŽͺ Don’t you wanna get away from the same old part you gotta play
‘Cause I got what you need, so come with me and take the ride
It’ll take you to the other side πŸŽͺ

Red Rising by Pierce Brown

One bromance I love is Darrow and Sevro from the Red Rising trilogy as it’s quite different and very intense. The trust, loyalty and respect between the two help them overcome a lot of obstacles and both become better people because of their friendship.

Never Enough – An author or book series you could never get enough of.

✨ All the shine of a thousand spotlights
All the stars we steal from the nightsky
Will never be enough
Never be enough ✨

The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

I love Madeline Miller’s writing so would never tire of her books. Both The Song of Achilles and Circe are two of my favourite books due to their beautiful prose and unforgettable retellings of Greek mythology.

This Is Me –  A character who’s not afraid to be different.

πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆWhen the sharpest words wanna cut me down
I’m gonna send a flood, gonna drown them out
I am brave, I am bruised
I am who I’m meant to be, this is meπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

HP 5 The Greatest Showman

I couldn’t resist using Harry Potter for one prompt so I’ve chosen Luna Lovegood as she’s not afraid to stand out from the crowd. Luna is quirky and unique, with a very open mind, and dares to be different from the other Hogwarts students.

Rewrite The Stars – A bookish OTP that overcome a lot to be together.

πŸ’•What if we rewrite the stars?
Say you were made to be mine
Nothing could keep us apart
You’d be the one I was meant to findπŸ’•

A Discovery of Witches

I’ve been rereading A Discovery of Witches recently and Diana and Matthew definitely have a lot of obstacles to overcome before they can be together. Is anyone else looking forward to the TV adaptation?

Tightrope – A book you took a chance on.

🎟 We’re walking the tightrope
Never sure, never know how far we could fall
But it’s all an adventure
That comes with a breathtaking view🎟

Mortal Engines

I hadn’t come across this series until I took a Children’s Literature module for my English Literature degree a few years ago. One of the books I chose to study was Mortal Engines and I absolutely loved the series. I’m really looking forward to seeing how the film turns out.

From Now On – A book you’re finally going to read.

❀ From now on
These eyes will not be blinded by the lights
From now on
What’s waited till tomorrow starts tonight ❀

Daughter of Smoke and Bone

I always choose City of Bones for this question (which I definitely am going to read this year!) so this time I’m going with Daughter of Smoke and Bone as I’ve been meaning to read it for years and I now finally have all the UK hardbacks so there’s no longer an excuse to put it off.

Feel free to consider yourself tagged if you’d like to participate in this book tag. I’d love to hear your answers and I always welcome any fangirling over The Greatest Showman!

I love this film! I am so happy there is a book tag for it, especially when the DVD will be out very soon. I might give it a go for the UK DVD release!

I’m trying to make myself wait until after my exams until I watch it again! Just casually bribing myself πŸ˜…
