Top 5 Sanity Savers

Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme created by Bionic Book Worm. Here’s a list of the upcoming topics for April – please remember to pingback to the host to be added to the participant list.

This weeks prompt is sanity savers i.e. things you’re enjoying whilst in isolation. This one doesn’t have to be strictly book-themed either.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

I bought Animal Crossing for my switch lite last week and it’s such addictively wholesome fun.

I’m a huge jigsaw nerd so I’m finding myself doing more than ever at the moment. Thankfully I still have a difficult one to do (a Wentworth Wooden Puzzle) before I need to buy more.

Cross Stitch

Another hobby I enjoy is cross-stitching. I recently bought this design from Plastic Little Covers and will be starting this week.

Bullet Journaling

I have a reading bullet journal and love creating new layouts. Plus it’s a distracting use of my time if I’m feeling anxious.

I had to mention books somewhere as I’m sure a lot of us are reading more than ever.

What hobbies or activities are you finding helpful at the moment?

Oh my gosh, yes! I just got Animal Crossing last week and I love it! It is so addicting, and I love how peaceful it is. I just started visiting islands too, so that has been fun! 🙃

Yes, it’s really addictive. I’ve spent way too many hours playing but it’s so relaxing!

Animal crossing is actually keeping me from doing things I should be doing. It’s been years since I played the game, but ahhh, it’s good to be back. I am in NJ and my daughter is in Chicago, and ACNH has allowed us to have visits with each other. We play while we are on the phone with each other, and even have a pretty nice photo album documenting our visits.

That’s so lovely to hear! I like how it’s keeping people connected. Plus it’s so addictive it takes your mind off the madness.

I’ve also been doing a lot of jigsaw puzzles lately and I want to start cross-stitching again!

I love Animal Crossing! I was having really bad anxiety about EVERYTHING, and it has really helped me to relax. I’ve also taken up painting!
    Great list!

It’s such a good tool for relaxing. Painting sounds like a great hobby!
