Yes, that one is great too! I love Romola Garai and Jonny Lee Miller so the 2009 adaptation was perfect for me.

So glad to see you went with Colin Firth & Jennifer Ehrle version of P&P!!
I know it’s not quite Austen but in the spirit of your list I have to nod to Austenland (which is based on the books by Shannon Hale so bonus points for a film about a book about a love of books and their films and tv series!)

My sister prefers the Keira Knightley version but I think the 1995 one is perfect. Yes, I loved Austenland! It was so much fun and captured the spirit of being an Austen fan.

The 1995 Pride and Prejudice is FLAWLESS, and Clueless is the best adaptation of Emma, which is probably one of my least favourite Austen books. I adore the Emma Thompson Sense and Sensibility as well, because I find the book itself a lot slower than P&P and it manages to edit out a lot of the extraneous bits.

For Mansfield Park, though, I think my favourite will always be the Frances O’Connor version from 1999, although I have been to Newby Hall, where the ITV one you list was filmed, and it is beautiful. They have a room completely full of chamber pots.

I totally agree. Clueless remains one of my all-time favourite films. I haven’t seen the 1999 Mansfield Park so will have to watch it as soon as I can. I went with the 2007 one mainly because I love Billie Piper but it definitely missed a lot out of the book.

The BBC Pride and Prejudice is my absolute favourite!!! I also really enjoyed both adaptations of Sense and Sensibility too. I’ve not seen any of the other period drama adaptations though but I want to, especially Emma and Mansfield Park as they’re the two I dislike, and I’m curious to find out whether I prefer them more on film.

It’s pretty hard to resist Jonny Lee Miller as Mr Knightley in the 2009 Emma so maybe give that a go first!

Oh, thank you. I’ll have a look at it. 🙂
